Summer Reading Assignment

What are you working on this year?

Is it an aspect of yourself? An outside project? Are you reading or watching something? There are many different ways to answer this question, and that is why it's become an interview question of choice for colleges and potential employers.

You may have written something similar last year; this year write about what you're working on right *now*.  How is your work particular to this year?

Prior to Sunday, September 19th, create a Google Doc and write a three-paragraph (8-10 sentences per paragraph) response to the question above. Include an introduction with a hook, some background information, and a statement explaining your area of focus. In the body, provide more detail about "the project", and then end with a concluding paragraph where you summarize what you've accomplished and the direction that you hope to move in. You will submit your Google Doc in the first week of school.

In addition:

1. Read the short story "Scars and Scales" by Sarah Rakel Orton.

2. While reading, follow along with this Prezi and record your answers in a Google Doc.  Be prepared to upload your written answers to these questions in the first week of school.
